Weirdness

08May08

Bear with me, y’all. I’ve been in a bit of sentimental funk lately. I’m not sure really how to describe it, but it’s kinda like that nesting phase you go through when you’re pregnant or when the leaves start changing and fall starts settling in. I suddenly want to spend gobs of time with my family (ain’t that something) and I want to plant a garden of sweet williams, like my grandma does. I want to clean…everything. And I want to curl up in front of a window with a book and blanket while it’s raining outside. Obviously, these things are by no means unusual, but this is not normally how I am this time of the year. It’s kinda weird.

To add to the nesting oddities, I also want something strange for Mother’s Day. Usually I’d ask for an iPod (been asking for that for a couple of years now without success) or maybe a nice dinner out. I’ve even asked for time away from the family so I can write. Not very motherly, but, hey… This year, however, I want…a tree. A red maple tree specifically.

I’d ask what the heck is going on with me, but as I write this, I think I’ve figured it out…

I’m getting old. I will, after all, be the big 3-0 this year.

This is really just the strangest feeling to me. Maybe the fact that school is done has contributed to it, too. But I have this bizarre sense of calm and contentment and simplicity. Does that make any sense?

Probably not. LOL

Anyhow, kidlets need some breakfast and then we’re going outside to play. Well, they’ll be playing and I’ll be reading some more of Stephen King’s On Writing

Thanks for letting me babble…  Big hugs and smooches…

ETA:  Notice how my weird mood has affected my blog, too?  LOL  Organized and clean has replaced my sexy tattoo gal…

Guess What?

I found my mojo again!!!  Yep, I’ve written between 3 and 4K the past two days and somehow I’ve even managed to read two books and play with the kids outside.  I even mopped the kitchen floor yesterday, too.  Don’t ask about the laundry, though. LOL

Oh, and for anyone who might care, my GPA for this past semester was 3.9.  Not the 4.0 from last semester, but hey, I’ll take it considering this was the semester from hell for me.

That’s all. :)  Now I’m off to do some of that laundry I neglected yesterday and put the kids down for naps so I can get a start on what will hopefully be another 3K worth of words today.

Toodles…

This is me…

Broken free…

(And I’m a poet and didn’t know it, LOL)

Finally took my last exam last night.  Yay.  Had a Corona to celebrate afterward.  Made me really tired.  But I couldn’t go to bed because I hadn’t written all of my 10 pages for Fast Draft yet.  So I curled up on the couch with Alphie and, eyes drooping, managed my goal.  I’m seriously afraid to read what I wrote.  It’s probably not even remotely close to coherent, but whateva.  Maybe in my exhausted, slightly drunken state of forced determination, I actually came up with something good.  Yeah, right.

Anyhow, I’m off to write now.  Just wanted to update anyone who cares that as of last night, I am not officially a free woman.  No more excuses now. ;)

I have to share this.  My aunt sent this to me yesterday.  You know what cheeseheads we people in Wisconsin are.  We love our Packers and we love our Brett. Click here if you wanna cry

Enjoy. :)

Oh, and, PS…damn, that boy can pull off a baseball cap. Whew…
